Six Years

Six years ago my world was shattered, and my life was turned upside down.

We got a call that my brother had been in a car accident.

My parents lost a child, and I lost a brother.

Our family was surrounded for days by people that love and care about us. Cooking us meals, cleaning our house, and just being there.

The weeks passed and less people came by, and we were faced with the horrifying reality that our life as we knew it was changed forever.

I no longer had someone constantly picking on me and doing every possible thing to drive me crazy.

I would give anything for him to pick on me again. To see that goofy grin of his. To hear his laugh. Hug his neck.

I often wonder what life would be like if Christopher were still here. Would we be closer now that we were older? Would he be proud of me and everything that I've done? What would he be doing? Would he approve of Taylor, and would they get along?

I am selfish daily, and want his presence back so badly. I have to remember that he is the one that is in Heaven, and that is far better than anything he could experience on this Earth. The Lord's plan is so much bigger and better than my plan. I struggle to remember that daily, and I wish that I understood it.

Until I can understand it, I will cherish the 15 years of memories with Christopher and thank the Lord that my bubba is in a better place. I will live my life fully and be thankful for all of my blessings.

{Life Currently} #1

I've decided that this blog needs a little more love. In order for that to happen, I suppose I need to update it more. (Even though I still don't understand why people wouldn't want to read about our proposal over and over again! (-; ) Anyways, I've decided to start a blog series called {Life Currently}. I plan to update it about every other week with what we've been up to, if there is any wedding news, things we like and dislike, etc. So, here goes week #1!

Currently in the lives of Sarah and Taylor..

There was a new addition to the Hamilton family! Taylor's sister and brother-in-law welcomed a precious baby boy on 5/26/14. Canaan Luke Richardson is precious and we are all so excited to watch him grow!

I started back working at Pharmacy Plus in town a few days a week. I originally wanted to be a pharmacist, and working at the pharmacy is what turned me away from it, haha. Even though it's not the career I want for the rest of my life, I really enjoy the people I work with and am thankful that they always find times for me to work there.

Taylor began a job at the high school and has been building tables, benches, etc. on the side. I have no idea where his drive and love for woodworking came from, but he's been going to town with it lately. If you need something built, let him know! I'm pretty excited about it because maybe he'll save me some money on furniture one day! (-;

We attended our first wedding together last weekend in Dallas. One of four in the next three weeks. Talk about giving me wedding fever.

We head out today for Roswell, NM to attend the wedding of some of our close college friends this weekend. The two of us we present for their engagement last May and are excited that we get to be a part of their big day. I cannot wait to watch their marriage grow and see where the Lord leads them.

Last, but definitely not least, I found the perfect wedding dress! My mom and I traveled to Waco yesterday just to look around and kind of get a feel of the style of dresses that I liked. While I had been researching wedding dresses online, I wanted to try some on to see which best fit my body style. So, we went into the bridal boutique and there it was! I was hesitant to try it on at first, but mom said "It won't hurt to just try it on and see how it looks." I am so thankful that she encouraged me to try it on, because it turned out to be the perfect dress for me! Yay!
